Description
A festive dessert combining layers of moist cake, fluffy whipped cream, and sugary-sweet berries, styled to resemble a Christmas tree.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box of vanilla cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- Green food coloring
- Edible glitter
- Mini candy canes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely before cutting it into small cubes.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.
- In a trifle dish, layer the cake cubes, followed by a layer of whipped cream, and then a layer of mixed berries. Repeat the layers until the dish is full.
- For decoration, mix a few drops of green food coloring into the remaining whipped cream and pipe it on top of the trifle. Sprinkle with edible glitter and garnish with mini candy canes.
- Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
