- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread the walnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally until lightly toasted.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, butter, water, and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.
- Boil without stirring for about 5-7 minutes until it turns a golden color.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Quickly add the toasted walnuts into the toffee mixture, stirring to coat them evenly.
- Pour out onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread into a single layer.
- Let it cool completely before breaking into pieces. Enjoy as a treat or add to gift baskets!
