Description

A delightful treat combining crispy walnuts and sweet toffee, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups walnuts
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the walnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally until lightly toasted.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, butter, water, and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.
  4. Boil without stirring for about 5-7 minutes until it turns a golden color.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Quickly add the toasted walnuts into the toffee mixture, stirring to coat them evenly.
  7. Pour out onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread into a single layer.
  8. Let it cool completely before breaking into pieces. Enjoy as a treat or add to gift baskets!
