- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Red and green sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a small bowl.
- Cream together the softened butter and white sugar until smooth.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing well.
- Incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
- Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Flatten each ball using a glass dipped in sugar.
- Add red and green sugar on top of the flattened cookies.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges turn golden.
- Cool cookies on wire racks before storing.
