Description

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Red and green sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a small bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and white sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing well.
  5. Incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
  6. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Flatten each ball using a glass dipped in sugar.
  8. Add red and green sugar on top of the flattened cookies.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges turn golden.
  10. Cool cookies on wire racks before storing.
