- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Beat in the flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool, then cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Don’t overmix the batter and check for doneness a few minutes before the suggested baking time to avoid overbaking.
