Description

Decadent and creamy brownie bars with a magical layer of chocolate, coconut, and nuts, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, mixing until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Remove from the oven and immediately pour the sweetened condensed milk over the hot brownies.
  8. Sprinkle chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and chopped nuts evenly over the condensed milk.
  9. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the toppings are golden and bubbly.
  10. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

For best results, measure ingredients accurately and do not overmix the batter.
