Description

Delicious and festive chocolate cookies coated in powdered sugar, creating a beautiful crinkle effect.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate large bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes for easier handling.
  7. Using a cookie scoop, form balls of dough and roll them in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  8. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  10. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For variations, consider adding peppermint, nuts, or stuffing them with chocolate.
