Description

A delightful and festive treat combining salty saltine crackers with rich layers of butter, brown sugar, and melting chocolate, topped with optional nuts.


Ingredients

  • Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • Chopped nuts (optional)
  • White chocolate (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat until bubbly. Pour the mixture evenly over the crackers.
  3. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  4. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for a few minutes to soften, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
  5. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts or drizzle white chocolate on top.
  6. Allow to cool fully before breaking into pieces.
