Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sleeve (about 40) saltine crackers
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped pecans

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and lightly coat it with nonstick spray.
- Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the lined baking sheet, covering it completely.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir constantly while bringing it to a boil and cook for 3 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Pour the hot caramel mixture evenly over the crackers, using a spatula to spread it if necessary.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes until the caramel is bubbling.
- Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot caramel layer.
- Let the chocolate chips sit for 2 to 3 minutes to soften, then spread them evenly with a spatula.
- While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle chopped nuts, sprinkles, or other decorations on top if desired.
- Allow the mixture to cool completely, then refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours until it sets.
- Break the cooled slab into pieces and serve!
