Delicious and festive Christmas cookie bars that are easy to make and perfect for sharing during the holidays.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup Unsalted butter, melted (for dairy-free, use melted coconut oil)
- ¾ cup Brown sugar
- ¼ cup Granulated sugar
- 1 Large egg (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1½ cups All-purpose flour (spoon and level for accuracy)
- ½ teaspoon Baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Holiday M&M’s (use red and green for a festive touch)
- ½ cup Mini chocolate chips (optional but recommended)
- 2 tablespoons Sprinkles (adds texture and color)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy lifting later. Lightly grease the parchment.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth and glossy.
- Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold until combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Add the M&M’s, chocolate chips, and sprinkles. Reserve some M&M’s for topping before baking.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 20–25 minutes until edges are golden and the center looks set.
- Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares or triangles.
Notes
For softer bars, check for doneness at 18 minutes. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days.
