- 1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz)
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries (optional)
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp cherry juice (optional)
- 1/4 cup shaved dark chocolate for topping
Instructions
- Bake or cube your chocolate cake. Let it cool completely.
- Optional: Drizzle cherry juice lightly over the cake cubes.
- Mix the cherry pie filling with fresh cherries for texture and set aside to cool.
- In a large bowl, beat heavy cream, mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Chill for 10 minutes before layering.
- Add a layer of cake cubes at the bottom of a glass trifle bowl.
- Spoon over a layer of cherry filling.
- Add whipped cream on top and smooth evenly.
- Repeat until the bowl is full, finishing with cream.
- Sprinkle shaved chocolate on top and garnish with extra cherries.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Serve chilled for best texture and flavor.
