Description

A delightful dessert combining rich chocolate flavors with a hint of fresh orange, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs (about 2025 cookies)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest (from about 2 oranges)
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch springform pan and wrap the outside with aluminum foil.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter, then press into the bottom of the springform pan.
  4. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then let it cool.
  5. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth, around 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add the vanilla extract, then mix in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  7. Add the sour cream, heavy cream, orange juice, orange zest, melted chocolate, and a pinch of salt, mixing until smooth.
  8. Pour the batter over the cooled crust in the springform pan.
  9. Prepare a water bath by placing the springform pan in a larger dish filled with hot water halfway up the sides.
  10. Bake for 55-65 minutes until the edges are set with a slightly jiggly center.
  11. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour.
  12. Remove the cheesecake from the water bath and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  13. Remove the sides of the springform pan, slice, and garnish as desired.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream, fresh orange slices, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
