Description

A delightful dessert that combines the rich, fudgy texture of brownies with a light and airy chocolate mousse.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and stir in the sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, and salt together. Gradually stir into the butter mixture until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  5. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate in a bowl and allow it to cool slightly. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then fold into the cooled chocolate.
  6. Spread the chocolate mousse over the cooled brownies.
  7. Prepare the chocolate ganache by melting chocolate in a bowl. Allow to cool slightly, then pour over the mousse layer.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. Cut into bite-sized pieces and enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
