Description
Delightful chocolate-covered caramel apple slices that combine crunchy apples, sweet caramel, and rich chocolate, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium-sized apples (Fuji or Granny Smith recommended)
- 1 cup of caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (optional)
- Toppings (optional): crushed nuts, sprinkles, sea salt, or any candy
Instructions
- Prepare the apples by washing and slicing them into thin wedges, removing the seeds.
- Melt the caramel sauce in a microwave-safe bowl for about 30 seconds, stir, and heat for another 30 seconds if needed.
- Dip each apple slice into the caramel sauce, allowing excess to drip off before placing on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Refrigerate the caramel-coated apple slices for 10-15 minutes to set the caramel.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl at 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. If desired, mix in coconut oil.
- Dip the caramel-coated apple slices into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off and placing back on parchment paper.
- Add toppings immediately after dipping in chocolate while still wet.
- Final chill in the fridge for another 15-20 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
- Serve the apple slices fresh or store for later enjoyment.
Notes
Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container. For best texture, add toppings immediately and avoid stacking.
