- 30 g butter
- 35 g flour
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Heat over medium until boiling and butter is melted.
- Remove from heat and add flour and cocoa powder, mixing vigorously until a dough forms.
- Return to low heat for 1-2 minutes to dry the dough slightly.
- Transfer dough to a bowl to cool for a couple of minutes.
- Gradually stir in the egg until the mixture is smooth and shiny.
- Pipe or spoon small mounds of dough onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and firm to touch.
- Turn off the oven, crack the door, and let buns rest for 5 minutes.
- Cool completely before dusting with cocoa powder or filling.
