Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the all-purpose flour and baking soda together and set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, light-brown sugar, and salt on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter mixture, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each ball.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, ensure your butter is softened but not melted, and be careful not to overmix the dough.
