Description

Soft, chewy, and loaded with chocolate chips, these chocolate chip cookies are perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the all-purpose flour and baking soda together and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, light-brown sugar, and salt on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter mixture, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Drop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each ball.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is slightly soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure your butter is softened but not melted, and be careful not to overmix the dough.
