Description

A delightful dessert combining rich chocolate and gooey caramel, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Chopped nuts or toffee bits

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, milk, melted butter, baking powder, and sour cream. Stir until smooth and thick.
  3. Spread half of the cake batter evenly in the prepared dish and drizzle warm caramel sauce over it. Gently spread the remaining batter on top.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 45–50 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  5. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until hot but not boiling. Pour over semi-sweet chocolate chips and stir until smooth.
  6. Once the cake is baked, cool for about 10 minutes, then spread the ganache over the warm cake. Allow resting for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes
