Description

Chili Mac is a delicious comfort food that combines the best of chili and macaroni, perfect for a cozy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can chili beans (15 ounces)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté them until they become soft and fragrant.
  3. Stir in the chili beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Ensure everything combines well.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Stir in the elbow macaroni. Reduce the heat to a simmer, cover the pot, and let it cook until the pasta is tender, about 8-10 minutes.
  6. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the shredded cheese until it melts.
  7. Spoon the Chili Mac into bowls and serve hot.

Notes

For variations, try vegetarian options or spice it up with jalapeños.
