- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound chicken sausage (sliced)
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Toss in the broccoli florets, cooking for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
- Stir in the orzo, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan until melted and combined.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For a creamier texture, consider stirring in a splash of heavy cream before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 2 months.
