- 4 chicken thighs
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 apples, cored and sliced
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme for garnish
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chicken thighs and brown them on both sides until golden.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent.
- Add the sliced apples and cook until lightly caramelized, about 5 minutes.
- Return the chicken thighs to the skillet and pour in the apple cider.
- Cover the skillet and simmer for about 30 minutes, until chicken is tender.
- Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Heat through and serve hot, garnished with fresh thyme.
