Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
- 1/2 cup chopped vegetables (like carrots, cucumbers, and scallions)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
Instructions
- Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl.
- Add warm water and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients. Knead the mixture until it becomes smooth.
- Allow the dough to rise for about 30 minutes in a warm place, covering it with a kitchen towel.
- Combine the shredded chicken, chopped vegetables, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a separate bowl. Stir until well combined.
- After the dough has risen, divide it into small balls (about the size of a golf ball) and flatten each ball slightly to form a circle.
- Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center of each circle. Fold the edges over the filling to seal them shut.
- Arrange the buns in a steamer, ensuring they have space to expand.
- Steam the buns for about 15-20 minutes until they are fluffy and cooked through.
Notes
