- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp red food coloring

- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the sugar and vegetable oil together. Then add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Add the red food coloring and mix thoroughly.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Don’t overmix!
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the brownies cool, beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until creamy and well combined.
- Spread the cream cheese frosting over the cooled brownies.
- Cut into squares and serve.
