- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add in the mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Mix in the chopped walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a couple of inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and flavor. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
