Description

Fluffy cherry cinnamon rolls filled with sweet cherry pie filling and topped with creamy frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Heat milk and butter until warm (not hot). Add to dry ingredients. Mix in the egg. Knead dough until smooth.
  2. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled, about 60 minutes.
  3. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread cherry pie filling over the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  4. Roll up tightly and cut into slices. Place rolls in a greased baking dish.
  5. Let rise again for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. For frosting, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Drizzle over warm rolls and serve.
