- 1 tsp baking powder

- 1 cup toasted almonds, chopped
- 1 cup dried cherries, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together sugar and softened butter in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
- In another bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
- Fold in chopped toasted almonds and dried cherries.
- Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a log about 12 inches long on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool for 10 minutes, then slice the logs diagonally into 1/2-inch thick slices.
- Place slices cut side down on the baking sheet and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until crisp.
- Cool completely before serving or storing.
