- 1 cup milk

- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until it forms a paste.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, cooking until the sauce thickens.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced potatoes, broccoli florets, and cheese.
- Pour the sauce over the potato and broccoli mixture and stir until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
- Sprinkle additional cheese on top if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.

For a lighter dish, using milk instead of cream helps maintain creaminess while reducing calories.
