- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 4 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion, garlic, 1/2 cup of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until everything is well combined.
- Press the meat mixture into a greased baking dish, shaping it into an even layer.
- Spread the mashed potatoes over the meatloaf layer, ensuring it’s evenly covered.
- Top with the remaining ketchup, shredded cheese, and crumbled bacon.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the meat to keep it tender. Don’t skip the bacon for extra flavor.
