Description

A comforting, cheesy casserole made with ground beef, russet potatoes, onions, and cheddar cheese, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb ground beef
  • 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Peel and slice russet potatoes into thin rounds.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil, cook onion until translucent, then add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, and paprika. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Layer half of the sliced potatoes, half of the cooked beef, and half of the cheese in the baking dish. Repeat layers.
  6. Pour the mushroom soup mixture over the layered ingredients.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 60-70 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is golden brown.
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes, then garnish with parsley and serve.

Slice potatoes evenly for best results. Covering the casserole helps ensure even cooking.
