- 1.5 lb ground beef
- 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Peel and slice russet potatoes into thin rounds.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil, cook onion until translucent, then add ground beef and cook until browned.
- In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, and paprika. Season with salt and pepper.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes, half of the cooked beef, and half of the cheese in the baking dish. Repeat layers.
- Pour the mushroom soup mixture over the layered ingredients.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 60-70 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is golden brown.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then garnish with parsley and serve.
Notes
Slice potatoes evenly for best results. Covering the casserole helps ensure even cooking.
