- 4–5 russet potatoes, diced
- 2 cups diced ham
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Boil the diced russet potatoes until tender, then drain.
- Melt the butter in a separate saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the cream, milk, salt, pepper, and onion powder to create a creamy sauce.
- Combine the cooked potatoes, diced ham, and shredded cheese in a large mixing bowl. Pour the creamy sauce on top.
- Stir the mixture until everything is well coated.
- Transfer the potato and ham mixture to a greased casserole dish.
- Sprinkle additional shredded cheese on top if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the casserole is golden brown and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a twist, add veggies like peas or bell peppers. Leftovers can be reheated in the oven at 350°F.
