Description

A hearty and comforting casserole that combines ground beef, tender potatoes, and gooey cheese, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened and translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as you go.
  4. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, then the cooked beef mixture, followed by the remaining sliced potatoes.
  5. Mix the cream of mushroom soup with the milk until smooth and pour over the layers.
  6. Top with shredded cheese and cover the dish with foil.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. It can be frozen for up to 2-3 months.
