Description

A hearty bake that combines seasoned ground beef, crispy French fries, and creamy cheese sauces for a delicious comfort food experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 28 oz shoestring French fries
  • 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • 10.5 oz cheddar cheese soup
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dehydrated onions
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the French fries until they are crisp according to the package directions, around 20-25 minutes, and set aside.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet, brown ground beef with diced onion for 7-10 minutes. Add minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; drain excess grease.
  3. Add cream of mushroom soup and cheddar cheese soup to the cooked beef, mixing until well combined.
  4. Grease a 7×11 inch baking dish. Spread the beef mixture evenly across the bottom. Layer crispy French fries on top and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese generously over them.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. While baking, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, dehydrated onions, and a pinch of black pepper to make the sauce.
  7. Once the casserole is out of the oven, drizzle the sauce over the top, serve warm, and enjoy!

Notes

Serve with a simple salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal. Avoid overcooking the beef and use freshly cooked fries for the best flavor and texture.
