Description
Soft pretzels filled with melted cheese, boiled in baking soda water, and baked until golden brown.
Ingredients
3 cups flour
1 tbsp sugar
2 1/4 tsp yeast
1 tsp salt
1 cup warm water
2 tbsp butter
8 cheese sticks
1/4 cup baking soda
1 egg
Coarse salt
Instructions
1. Mix flour, sugar, yeast, salt.
2. Add water + butter; knead dough.
3. Let rise 1 hour.
4. Divide dough; wrap around cheese sticks.
5. Boil 30 sec in baking soda water.
6. Brush with egg wash; salt.
7. Bake 12–15 mins.
Notes
Seal seams tightly to prevent leaks.
Brush with butter after baking for softer crust.
Freeze baked pretzels up to 2 months.
