Description

Cheese straws are a delightful treat that combines the richness of cheese with a satisfying crunch, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 12 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheese and softened butter until well blended.
  3. Add the flour, salt, paprika, and poppy seeds. Mix until the dough forms.
  4. Add cold water as needed to bring the dough together.
  5. Roll the dough out on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  6. Cut into thin strips or desired shapes.
  7. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
