Description

A creamy and rich cheese sauce perfect for dipping or drizzling over fries.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Pinch of cayenne (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Slowly whisk in warm milk and cook until thickened.
  4. Reduce heat and stir in shredded cheese gradually.
  5. Add seasonings and stir until smooth.
  6. Adjust consistency with milk if needed.
  7. Serve immediately over hot fries.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese for the best texture. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–4 days.
