Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well and set aside.
- Cream softened butter in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed butter, mixing just until combined.
- Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheese to form a thick dough.
- Add pesto and mix until evenly distributed.
- Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut out shapes with cookie cutters or a knife.
- Arrange cutouts on the prepared baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden and crispy.
- Cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
