- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and light in texture.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until the mixture is well combined and fluffy.
- Whisk together the rolled oats, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and salt until mixed well in another bowl.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined; don’t overmix.
- Fold in the chopped pecans gently until evenly distributed in the dough.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to maintain shape during baking.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centers look set.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
