Description
A moist and flavorful chai-spiced cake perfect for celebrations or tea time.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup strong brewed chai tea (cooled)
- 1 tablespoon chai spice mix (cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract and chai tea, mixing until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, chai spice mix, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the whole milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost with your favorite frosting or a simple glaze. Enjoy!
Notes
