Description

A delightful and easy-to-make cake that is perfect for any occasion and sure to impress anyone you share it with.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 1 cup milk (substitute with almond or coconut milk if desired)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Pour in the milk and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
  5. Sift the flour and baking powder in another bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until smooth.
  6. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch cake pan and pour in the batter, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve plain or with powdered sugar, whipped cream, or fresh fruits.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter and avoid overmixing to prevent a dense cake.
