A unique twist on classic deviled eggs, these Cajun Style Fried Deviled Eggs feature a crunchy Panko coating and a creamy filling, perfect as an appetizer or party snack.

- 6 hard-boiled eggs
- 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon gumbo file
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- Smoked paprika for garnish
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Slice the hard-boiled eggs in half and remove the yolks.
- Mash the yolks in a mixing bowl and combine with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pipe or spoon the filling back into the egg white halves.
- Mix Panko breadcrumbs with gumbo file, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
- Carefully coat each filled egg half in the Panko mixture.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the coated eggs until golden brown.
- Remove from oil and sprinkle with smoked paprika before serving.
Notes
Use eggs that are at least a week old for easier peeling. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
