Description

A delightful twist on classic deviled eggs featuring creamy egg yolk and spicy shrimp, perfect for gatherings and fancy snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 12 teaspoons hot sauce (to taste)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun spice mix
  • Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)
  • Celery sticks or pickles (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Start by hard-boiling the eggs. Place them in a pot of cold water. Bring the water to a boil, cover the pot, and then let it sit off the heat for 12 minutes.
  2. Cool the eggs in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Once cool, peel the eggs and cut them in half.
  3. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
  4. Mash the yolks with a fork, then add Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is smooth and well combined.
  5. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté it until it becomes fragrant.
  6. Add the shrimp to the skillet along with the Cajun spice. Cook the shrimp until they are pink and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Spoon the yolk mixture back into the egg whites, and make each one look attractive with the filling.
  8. Top each deviled egg with a piece of the sautéed shrimp for that perfect finishing touch.
  9. Garnish the eggs with fresh chives and serve with celery sticks or pickles on the side.

Notes

Ensure to store the eggs in an airtight container and keep the garnish separate for freshness.
