Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and 1/2 cup of powdered sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix until well blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix on low speed until just combined.
  6. If using nuts, fold them into the dough until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll into balls, placing them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for about 12-15 minutes until the bottoms are lightly golden and the tops remain pale.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 10 minutes.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar while still warm, then cool completely on a wire rack and dust again if desired.
