Description
A quick and delightful dish featuring shrimp cooked in a creamy butter garlic sauce, perfect for meals at any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails on)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 5 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season them with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet.
- Sear the shrimp for about 2 minutes on each side until they are golden and pink. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, stir in minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, add lemon juice and chopped parsley, and toss to coat. Cook for an additional minute until heated through.
Notes
Do not overcook the shrimp; they should be pink and opaque when done. Freshly minced garlic enhances the flavor. Adjust the spice to your preference.
