Description

Delicious and nutritious broccoli bites packed with cheese, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray or oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for baked bites; heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat for fried bites.
  2. Steam the broccoli florets for about 3-5 minutes until bright green but crisp. Drain, cool, then chop finely.
  3. Combine chopped broccoli, shredded cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
  4. For baked bites, form balls or patties, place on a baking sheet, spray lightly with olive oil, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  5. For fried bites, drop spoonfuls into hot oil and fry for 4-5 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes
