Description
A delicious dish featuring crispy skin chicken thighs seared to perfection and served in a rich and creamy garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Pat the chicken thighs dry and season them with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the chicken thighs skin-side down in the skillet and sear them for about 7-8 minutes until they are deeply golden.
- Flip the chicken and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
- Add the butter and minced garlic to the same pan, cooking for 1 minute while stirring constantly.
- Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Simmer for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Nestle the chicken thighs back into the sauce, skin-side up.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for 15-18 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
- Remove from heat and sprinkle fresh parsley over the dish. Serve hot, spooning the creamy garlic sauce over each chicken thigh.
Notes
Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
