Description

Delicious Blackened Salmon Burgers paired with a creamy Avocado Crema, offering a healthy and flavorful alternative to traditional burgers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skin removed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet to medium-high heat (around 375°F).
  2. Pulse the salmon fillet in a food processor until coarsely chopped.
  3. In a large bowl, combine chopped salmon, breadcrumbs, green onions, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  4. Form the salmon mixture into 4 equal patties, about 1 inch thick.
  5. Cook the patties on the grill or skillet for 4-5 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  6. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the avocado crema by blending avocado, Greek yogurt, lime juice, minced garlic, and salt until smooth.
  7. Remove the salmon burgers from heat and let rest for a few minutes.
  8. Serve the burgers on toasted buns, topped with the avocado crema and your favorite toppings.

Notes

For best results, do not over-process the salmon and let the burgers rest after cooking to maintain juiciness.
