Description
This blackberry grilled cheese is the perfect sweet and savory sandwich. Brie or mozzarella melts perfectly with blackberry jam, giving a gourmet twist to a classic comfort food.
Ingredients
2 slices sourdough or rustic bread
1 tbsp butter, softened
2–3 tbsp blackberry jam (or fresh blackberries)
3–4 slices brie or mozzarella cheese
1 tsp balsamic glaze (optional)
Instructions
1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
2. Spread blackberry jam on the unbuttered side of one slice.
3. Layer brie or mozzarella slices on top of the jam.
4. Add balsamic glaze if using.
5. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side out.
6. Grill in a skillet over medium heat until golden and cheese is melted.
7. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
Best enjoyed immediately for crispness.
Try goat cheese for a tangier version.
Add a handful of fresh arugula for a peppery contrast.
Pairs well with tomato soup or a spinach salad.
