- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup black cocoa powder (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until fully combined.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.
- Take a tablespoon of cookie dough, flatten it out, and place a small dollop of the cream cheese mixture in the center.
- Fold the dough around the filling to create a ball.
- Roll each ball in the black cocoa powder and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers look soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring the cookies to a cooling rack.
