Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, maple syrup, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the greased baking pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the bars to cool, then transfer to a wire rack. Drizzle with maple syrup if desired and cut into bars.
