- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the melted butter, maple syrup, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the greased baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool, then transfer to a wire rack. Drizzle with maple syrup if desired and cut into bars.
Notes
Do not over-mix the batter to maintain the fluffy texture of the bars.
