Description

Delightful and festive Christmas desserts that bring family together and create warm memories.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped mixed nuts (optional)
  • 1 cup dried fruits (like cranberries and raisins)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture. Stir well until combined.
  6. If desired, fold in the mixed nuts, dried fruits, and chocolate chips.
  7. Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets. Leave space between each scoop.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
