Description

A hearty and comforting ground beef stew perfect for cold days.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Break it up with a spatula as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onion is soft, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, diced potatoes, sliced carrots, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. In the last 10 minutes of cooking, stir in the frozen peas. Let simmer until the vegetables are tender and the stew is thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Serve hot, and enjoy!
